Knowledge Is
Power
Access to credible, timely, and well-researched information is fundamental to sound decision-making. For incarcerated individuals, however, restricted access to the internet, research databases, and other informational resources presents a significant barrier to obtaining the information they need.
KYROS Access was founded to bridge this gap. We conduct comprehensive research across a wide range of subjects, drawing on current, credible sources to provide organized, substantive reports tailored to each participant's specific request. Each completed research packet undergoes careful review before being delivered directly to the incarcerated individual through their correctional facility's available e-messaging service.
Research is currently available in five languages: English, Spanish, French, Chinese, and Arabic.
Built to Make Information
More Accessible
KYROS Access is a comprehensive research and information service established to address the significant informational barriers faced by incarcerated individuals. Limited access to the internet, research databases, and current informational resources can make it difficult for individuals in custody to obtain reliable information relevant to their present circumstances, personal interests, and future planning.
KYROS Access conducts substantive research across a broad range of subjects, including reentry, education, employment, housing, government programs and resources, legal information, court decisions, administrative procedures, and other areas identified by the participant. Each request is approached with an emphasis on credible, relevant, and authoritative sourcing, and complete research is reviewed, organized, and delivered directly to the participant through their facility's available e-messaging service.
For participants preparing to return to their communities, KYROS Access also provides individualized reentry research packets tailored to each participant's anticipated destination and specific needs. These packets identify current resources and opportunities related to housing, employment, education, vocational training, identification and documentation, transportation, public benefits, healthcare, and community-based reentry services.

In addition to its research and reentry services, KYROS Access provides specialized assistance to individuals in federal custody navigating the Federal Bureau of Prisons Administrative Remedy Program. Through KYROS Remedies, participants may receive assistance organizing the facts and concerns underlying an administrative remedy and preparing a written draft for their review. KYROS prints and mails completed remedy drafts directly to the participant, who remains responsible for reviewing the materials, making necessary revisions, completing the appropriate Bureau of Prisons form, and submitting the remedy through the institution's established administrative process.

Sponsor an Incarcerated Person
KYROS Access allows family members, friends, and other supporters to sponsor an incarcerated individual. During enrollment, the sponsoring individual provides the information needed to locate and reach the incarcerated individual, including their name as it appears within the correctional system, identification number, and preferred language.

Once the sponsorship and enrollment process is completed, KYROS establishes direct communication with the incarcerated participant, and the sponsor is not required to serve as an intermediary for future research requests. The participant may reach KYROS Access by email through the faculty-designated e-messaging platform, or by telephone where facility policy allows. KYROS responds to the participant in kind, handling requests, delivering finished work, and addressing other service-related matters directly with them by email or telephone.

Participants determine the subjects they want researched, and KYROS conducts the research, reviews it, organizes the filing, and delivers the completed research directly to the participant through their approved correctional communication platform.

Your sponsorship creates a direct connection between the participant and KYROS, giving them access to research, information, and resources from beyond the walls.
