About Us

KYROS Access was founded on the principle that a person's ability to seek knowledge, explore opportunities, and remain informed should not end at the doors of a correctional facility. Incarceration cuts people off from information that most people outside can reach in seconds, and that isolation reaches far beyond day-to-day circumstances; it can narrow access to education, weaken preparation for release, and leave individuals unaware of resources and events that directly shape their lives.

Our mission is to build a genuine bridge between incarcerated individuals and the world beyond the walls. We combine thorough research, individualized attention, careful human review, and direct communication to give participants a resource they can rely on during incarceration and as they prepare for reentry. No two participants arrive with the same circumstances or questions, so we treat every request on its own terms. Underlying all of this is a straightforward commitment: incarceration should never  stand in the way of knowledge, preparation, or possibility.

KYROS Research for Release provides individualized research for incarcerated individuals preparing to return home to their communities. Based on the participant's anticipated release location and specific needs, KYROS identifies current resources and opportunities related to housing, employment, education, vocational training, identification and documentation, transportation, public benefits, healthcare, and community-related services.

Rather than providing a general directory, each Research for Release package is tailored to the participant's circumstances, priorities, and destination. We review, organize, and deliver the completed research directly to the participant to support informed, purposeful preparation for the transition home.

KYROS Remedies provides specialized assistance to individuals in federal custody navigating the Federal Bureau of Prisons Administrative Remedy Process. Participants provide the facts and circumstances surrounding their concern, and KYROS assists in organizing the relevant information and preparing a clear, structured written remedy draft consistent with the applicable stage of the administrative remedy process. KYROS prints and mails completed drafts directly to the participant for review, modification if necessary, and submission through the institution's established procedures. KYROS also provides research applicable to BOP policies, procedural requirements, and relevant deadlines to help participants better understand the administrative remedy process. Participants remain responsible for reviewing, signing, and submitting their own administrative remedies. KYROS does not submit remedies or act as a legal representative on a participants behalf.
